Dan is a Senior Technology Strategist with New York State Office for Technology. From July 1998 through January 2012, he served as the Director of Telecommunications for the State of New York with responsibility for enterprise telecommunications and networking services.
Dan has been employed by New York State as a telecommunications professional since 1981. He has served in various capacities over the past 30+ years and was promoted to director in 1998. He is a former president of the National Association of State Technology Directors (NASTD) and is also a member of the Capital Area Technology Association (CATA).
He is a graduate of the University at Albany, State University of New York with a B.S. in Business Administration and also earned an A.A.S. degree in Telecommunications Management from Hudson Valley Community College. Dan served four years in the US Navy as a communications electrician aboard the USS Nitro (AE-23). Dan and his wife, Cynthia L. Itzo, reside in Colonie, New York.
