Stillwater
Located on the St. Croix River, Stillwater lays claim to be
Minnesota’s oldest town and the birthplace of the Minnesota
Territory in 1849. Your tour guide will provide a riding tour
of this enchanting old river town that takes you behind the
scenes of Stillwater’s history.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at the famed Lowell Inn. Since 1927
this famous “Mount Vernon of the Midwest” has been a hotel known
to serve the very finest food.
Following lunch, you will visit Northern Vineyards in
Stillwater’s historic Staples Mills for a tour and wine
tasting.
There will
be time to enjoy the variety and quality shopping on
Stillwater’s historic streets. Boutiques, specialty shops,
antiques and art galleries offer abundance for the
discriminating shopper. |

Riverboat Dinner Cruise
Conference attendees will enjoy a scrumptious buffet as they
head down the same river used by Native Americans, settlers and
travelers to Fort Snelling State Park, located at the confluence
of the Minnesota and Mississippi Rivers. The Dakota called this
place HA-HA MDO-TE which translates to junction of two rivers
and from which the town of Mendota got its name. |

Historic Minnesota
Enjoy this incredible tour that begins in St. Paul,
Minnesota’s charming historic capital city. Sights include
Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Landmark Center, Mickey’s
Diner, The Fitzgerald Theater, Minnesota History Center, the
Minnesota State Capitol, considered the second most beautiful
capitol building in the United States after Utah and the
magnificent Cathedral of St. Paul, the fourth largest cathedral
in the United States.
You will visit
the James J. Hill House. Hill, a.k.a. the “Empire Builder,”
purchased a bankrupt railroad in St. Paul in the late 1800’s and
masterminded its success by building the great Northern
Railway.
Lunch will be
served nearby at Forepaugh’s Restaurant. This elegantly
restored Victorian mansion, built in 1870, was the home of St.
Paul entrepreneur Joseph Lybrandt Forepaugh.
Your last stop
is at the Minnesota History Center, home to the Minnesota
Historical Society established in 1849. The Center showcases
and preserves the state’s historical resources. |
