Mike has been part of the IT Operations (computer/print/mail industry) for 30 years as
Assistant Director of IT Operations for the State of Rhode Island, he is responsible for the 7/24 daily operation of the EOC (Enterprise Operations Center) Facility Management, IT Operations Department of Corrections, Transportation, Human Services, Behavioral Healthcare & Developmental Disabilities, Environmental Management, Office of Rehabilitation Services, Enterprise Telecom and State wide Disaster Recovery and Data Center semi annual testing.
He is responsible for the daily Operations and planning, coordination, supervision and evaluation of the Agencies, Server rooms & its IT Operations staff for Desktop, Server & Network support. He serves as the primary point of contact for vendors providing technical support and maintenance services to Enterprise Telecom, DHS, BHDDH, ORS, DEM, DOC & DOT. He also plans, organizes, and directs the implementation and support of Telecommunication projects for the Division of Information Technology by managing a team of 6 telecom analysts who maintain the State’s telecommunication systems and wiring.
As the Administrator for Disaster Recovery for DoIT he is responsible for the planning, coordination, supervision and evaluation of the ITDRP (Information Technology Disaster Recovery Planning) teams & their platforms, he is responsible to coordinate with all State Agencies to develop new and assist in the recurring maintenance of established disaster recovery plans for their agencies owned dedicated IT computer systems and major applications, and is responsible to schedule, coordinate & develop (2) annual hotsite IT disaster recovery tests. He is a member of the Emergency Preparedness Committee Management and Technology Team, responsible for coordinating the update of the DOA Coop (Continuity of Operations Plan) and the integration of the ITDR plan into the Coop.
