Jack Harris has been active in many areas of Information Technology for the State of Michigan since 1976. Over the years he has gained experience in business software design, database design and management, operating system management, transaction processing system design and management, network design and management, and telecommunications management.
Jack served as the Telecommunications Director for the state of Michigan from 2004 to 2012, directing the planning and administration of all voice, data, and video telecommunications systems operated by the State of Michigan, providing services to all state departments and agencies.
Jack moved to directing Network Strategy and Development for the DTMB Center for Shared Solutions in 2012, joined the state’s CTO Office in April of 2013 as Director of Network Strategies, and assumed the additional role of Director of Enterprise Architecture in June of 2014.
Jack is happily married to Jayne for over 39 years and has 3 sons, two in college majoring in music performance, and one happily working as an actuary. Jack is a guitarist, playing regularly at his church, and occasionally around Lansing with his jazz trio (with Jayne on bass) at coffee houses and private parties.
