I am currently serving as the Director of Infrastructure Technology Services for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. His division provides data network (LAN/WAN/Backbone), network security, and MS Active Directory (including two factor authentication) services to over 50,000 users at 850 sites throughout Texas. In this role, I oversaw the revolutionary transformation of the network including the implementation of an entirely new fully redundant high bandwidth backbone, WAN, VoIP block, and new network perimeter security stack (including HA firewalls, IPS, and advanced persistent threat detection and remediation); for which he was awarded the 2014 Public CIO IT Manager Award. I am a Certified Texas Contract Manager and servers as a voting member of the HHSC’s ITIL Change Advisory Board (CAB).
I served as the Assistant Director for the Division of Communications within the Commonwealth Office of Technology from 2008 - 14; which is the Commonwealth's central information technology governance and service delivery agency. My division provided voice, video, and data communications networks, as well as network security services, for the entire executive branch. I provided strategic, fiduciary, as well as transformative technological leadership. I also served as the President of the Southern Region of the National Association of State Technology Directors in 2012.
